Aligning With Beauty

Today's my second time volunteering at Varley Gallery, at their "Aligning with Beauty" art exhibition opening. Marvelous art works by artists all around Canada and U.S. and some remarkable performances by a operatic quartet (soprano vocal, cello, piano, and flute) were featured in the show.

I had the chance to speak with some members of the band and the artists. At times of economic trouble, we align ourselves with many things... but it's beauty that connects us all together...

Yellow, Reprise.

I'm standing on the verge of the rainbow, finding the yellow...

These are the yellow roses I got from the covocation...

The Moon from at17's Yellow EP has been playing over and over on my iPod, it's a really beautiful melody - simple, calming, that's all I need now...

I don't think it has ever been a favorite color of mine... I don't own any yellow clothing, items, furnitures, whatsoever...

But I've now come to appreciate the brightness of yellow...

My mind is lightened, my pressure is relieved....
Oh my yellow, oh so mellow...

Under the spotlight...

This past weekend, I built a fake chandelier for our living room. It's surprisingly beautiful though. Keep in mind, I put those fake crystals on one-by-one... and it took HOURS!

It reminds me of Miriam Yeung's album <電光幻影>, released in summer of 2004, where the album photos featured a beautiful, antique chandelier.

The summer of 2004... a lot of memories, dead and gone. Anyhow, hope you are doing well.

One Month...

Today is September 14. A month has gone by. Thirty-one days with nothing to do....

No specific purpose in life, no sense of security, and declining self-confidence.

It's like I've entered a bridge to nowhere (not in Alaska though, haha). Everything is still an unknown.

I revisited campus on Friday for the Philosophy Dept. Awards Night... It was good to be back, it was like returning home yet it's not exactly home to me anymore. Actually, it felt more like a deja vu... it was like I FELT LIKE I've been here before, but it was just a feeling, nothing was realistic about it, nothing was familiar anymore....

With Prof. Kim Chow-Morris, enjoyed her American Pop Music class a lot!!!! Learned so much about the history of pop music and the stories, causes, and social impact of each genre. Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen are just some of the artists I started listening to and fell in love with after this course!
